Sikkim Dental Registration Tribunal (Sikkim Dental Council) has been established through the Sikkim Government Extraordinary Gazette. We are thankful to the HCM, Honorable Minister Health, CCS (Health) & the Government of Sikkim for this Historic Achievement. The Tribunal (Council) has been Established for Registration of Dental Surgeons and to regulate their practice of Dentistry in the State of Sikkim. It also regulates the functioning of the Dental Colleges in the state of Sikkim, as and when it comes up. Sikkim Dental Registration Tribunal (Sikkim Dental Council) website will assist in dissemination of information among Dental Professionals about the Sikkim Dental Registration Tribunal (Sikkim Dental Council). This has been done under the direction of Dental Council of India for transparency in the activities of Sikkim Dental Registration Tribunal (Sikkim Dental Council) and to monitor whether Dental Ethics has been followed by Dental Professionals. Sikkim Dental Registration Tribunal/ Sikkim Dental Council is statutory body created as per the provision of section 21 of the Dentists Act, 1948. Sikkim Dental Registration Tribunal/Sikkim Dental Council is registered & recognized by Dental Council of India. This council is authorized to do the Registration of B.D.S., M.D.S., Dental Hygienists, and Dental Mechanics as per the schedule of Dental Council of India. The Council is financed mainly by grants from the Govt. of Sikkim, Health care, Human services & Family Welfare Department, though the other source of income of the Council is the fees realized every year by various registered Dentists under section 33 of the Dentists Act.

World Oral Health Day was launched on 20 March 2013 by FDI World Dental Federation. The day also marks the launch of a year-long campaign to raise awareness of oral health and prevention of oral diseases. Since 2013 these campaigns have featured a specific theme.
